OUR FOUNDER, TRUDY MHLANGA

I am an educational entrepreneur who connects students and parents with outstanding universities and colleges around the world. My passion is to help students from southern Africa reach their full potential by helping them enjoy the same educational opportunities as their peers abroad.

To do that I founded IEC in 2013. I now have an office in Johannesburg, South Africa with a small branch in Harare, Zimbabwe. Over the past decade , I have helped placed over 300 students in universities and colleges across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australasia.

As IEC’s primary consultant, I combine entrepreneurial zeal, practical administrative sense, and multicultural dexterity to ensure my clients’ academic dreams become a reality.

I divide my time between Harare, Johannesburg and the countries of the universities that I represent. One of my greatest pleasures is meeting up with my students while they are studying abroad, checking in to ensure that they are getting the most out of their international experience.

As the parent of two children who have enjoyed world-class higher education opportunities in the UK and Canada, I understand how international studies can transform students’ and families’ lives. It has been nothing short of a blessing for us.

I also understand that every student is unique. Each has their own specific needs. Because of that, I provide personalised counselling that is catered to each student’s and family’s needs. Working closely together, we’ll be able to find a great opportunity for you.

Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Through IEC, in my own humble way, I try to help families do just that for themselves.
